Bag Instructions
Elegant, simple, and secure — how to use the PHAEVERS combination lock on your bag.
Quick Overview
-
Factory code: 0-0-0
-
Test your new code before reinserting zipper sliders and locking the bag.
-
If your bag’s lock has its button pushed outward, follow the Outward steps. If the button must be pushed inward, follow the Inward steps.
1. For locks where you push the button outward
What to expect: The button moves outward in the direction of the arrow when you press it (we’ll call this the (A) button). The default factory code is 0-0-0 (we’ll call this (B)).
-
Remove the zipper sliders. Press the button outward (A). The zipper sliders will pop out of the lock and you will be able to open the bag.

-
Verify factory setting. Ensure the lock is set to 0-0-0 (B) before attempting to change the code.

-
Engage the set mode. Push the button outward (A) in the direction of the arrow and hold it while you change the numbers. Important: If you release (A) during this step you will not be able to set a new combination.

-
Set your code. While continuing to press and hold (A), rotate each dial to your desired combination (B). Example:
1-1-1.
-
Finish. Release the button (A) back to its resting position in the direction of the arrow.

-
Test the code. Before you insert the zipper sliders and lock the bag, re-enter your chosen numbers and confirm the lock opens and closes reliably.

If you need to change the code later: Make sure the lock is currently set to the combination you previously created. If it is not, do not attempt to force a reset — this may damage the lock. Once the lock shows your current combination, repeat Step 2 and onward.
2. For locks where you push the button inward
What to expect: The button is pushed inward (toward the body of the lock) for setting (we’ll call this the (A) button). The default factory code is 0-0-0 (B).
-
Remove the zipper sliders. Push the button (A). The sliders will pop out of the lock so you can open the bag.

-
Verify factory setting. Ensure the lock is set to 0-0-0 (B) before attempting to change the code.

-
Engage the set mode. Push and hold the (A) button inward in the direction of the arrow. Important: You must continuously hold (A) or the combination will not set.

-
Set your code. While keeping (A) pressed, rotate each dial to your desired code (B). Example:
1-1-0.
-
Finish. Release the (A) button back to its resting position in the direction of the arrow.

-
Test the code. Before inserting the sliders and locking the bag, set the dials to your new code and verify the lock opens and closes correctly.

If you need to change the code later: Ensure the lock is currently set to your active combination (the one you previously set). If it is not, do not force a reset. Then repeat Step 2 and onward.
Important Safety & Care Notes
-
Always test the new combination several times before reinserting sliders or traveling with the bag.
-
Do not force any component. Forcing the lock or dials can permanently damage them.
-
Keep your combination secure. We suggest storing the number in a safe place rather than writing it directly on the bag.
-
Avoid exposure to extreme heat or prolonged moisture — this can reduce the life of the lock.
-
If the lock feels sticky or stiff, do not lubricate with oils or sprays unless recommended by PHAEVERS support — contact us first.
Troubleshooting
Problem: The sliders won’t come out when I press the button.
-
Confirm you are pressing the correct direction for your lock (outward vs inward). Try toggling the dials to
0-0-0(factory) first, then press the button again.
Problem: I set a combination but the lock doesn’t open.
-
Make sure you held the (A) button for the entire time while setting the new code. If you released (A) mid-step the code was not set.
-
Reset to the factory code (0-0-0) and repeat the process from Step 2.
Problem: I forgot my combination.
-
Do not try to force the lock open. Contact PHAEVERS Customer Care (see below) for guidance. We may ask for proof of purchase to provide next steps.
